Thailand Entry Requirements 2026 (Updated Guide)

Planning a trip to Thailand in 2026? Good news entering Thailand is easier than ever. But there are still a few important things you need to know before you go.

Here’s a simple, updated guide to Thailand’s entry requirements in 2026.

Do You Need a Visa?

It depends on your nationality.

Many travelers can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism purposes.


 Visa Exemption (Most Tourists)

Citizens from countries like the US, UK, EU, Australia, and many others can enter Thailand without a visa for short stays.

  • Stay duration: usually 30–60 days (depending on current policy)
  • Purpose: tourism only

Always double-check before traveling, as rules can change.

Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Some nationalities can apply for a Visa on Arrival at the airport.

  • Stay duration: typically up to 15 days
  • Requirements:
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Application fee (cash)


 Tourist Visa (For Longer Stays)

If you plan to stay longer, you can apply for a tourist visa in advance.

  • Usually allows 60 days stay
  • Can be extended once inside Thailand


Passport Requirements

Make sure your passport:

  • Is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date
  • Has at least 1–2 blank pages

If not, you may be denied entry.

In 2026, Thailand is moving toward a more digital system.

Travelers may be required to complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival.

  • Done online before your flight
  • Replaces old paper arrival forms

It’s quick and helps speed up immigration.



 Vaccination & Health Requirements

As of 2026:

  • No mandatory COVID-19 vaccination required
  • No quarantine

However:

  • Travel insurance is recommended
  • Some airlines may have their own requirements


Proof of Funds

Thai immigration may ask for proof that you can support yourself during your stay.

Typical guideline:

  • 10,000 THB per person
  • 20,000 THB per family
