Best Things to Do in Hua Hin | Beaches, Markets & Nature

Pawintra Chuychart • October 6, 2026

Beaches, night markets, hilltop temples and spectacular caves. Hua Hin has plenty to explore once you step away from the sun lounger.

Hua Hin may be famous as a seaside escape, but there’s much more around the area than its long coastline. Spend the morning by the sea, explore markets after sunset or head beyond town for some of the region’s most impressive natural scenery.

Relax on Hua Hin Beach

Start with the place that made Hua Hin famous.

Hua Hin Beach stretches along the town’s coastline and is ideal for an easy morning by the sea, a long walk along the sand or simply slowing down for a few hours.

Its central location also means restaurants, cafés and other attractions are never too far away.

Explore Khao Takiab

At the southern end of Hua Hin, Khao Takiab combines coastline, viewpoints and temples in one easy trip from the town center.

The hill overlooks the surrounding coastline and offers a completely different perspective of Hua Hin from above.

You may also encounter plenty of monkeys around the area, so keep food and loose belongings secure. Tiny furry tax collectors. 🐒

Visit Phraya Nakhon Cave

One of the most memorable places near Hua Hin lies inside Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.

Phraya Nakhon Cave is famous for the small Kuha Karuhas pavilion standing beneath a natural opening in the cave ceiling. At the right time of day, sunlight enters the cavern and illuminates the pavilion.

Getting there involves some walking and climbing, so comfortable footwear and water are worth bringing.

Discover Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park

Don’t rush back immediately after visiting the cave.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park combines limestone mountains, wetlands, beaches and wildlife, making it one of the best nature escapes around Hua Hin.

It’s worth dedicating a good part of the day to the area rather than treating it as a quick sightseeing stop.

Wander Through Hua Hin Night Market

When the temperature drops, head into the Hua Hin Night Market.

Seafood restaurants, Thai dishes, snacks and shopping fill the area in the evening. It’s an easy place to wander without much of a plan and an even easier place to accidentally turn one snack into dinner.

See Hua Hin Railway Station

Hua Hin’s historic railway station is one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks and a reminder of its long history as a Thai seaside destination.

It doesn’t require much time to visit, making it an easy stop while exploring central Hua Hin.

Spend Time at Khao Tao

For a quieter change of scenery, head south toward Khao Tao.

The area offers a more peaceful atmosphere than central Hua Hin, with beaches, local communities and coastal scenery that make it ideal for a slower afternoon.

Eat Fresh Seafood

A coastal trip without seafood would be a tragic administrative error.

Hua Hin has everything from simple local seafood restaurants to beachfront dining and market stalls serving fish, prawns, squid and shellfish.

For a more local experience, explore beyond the major tourist restaurants and see where the evening crowd is eating.

Watch the Sunset

After a day of exploring, slow things down.

Find a quiet spot along the coast, grab dinner or a drink and enjoy the evening atmosphere. Hua Hin isn’t a destination that needs every hour filled with activities.

Sometimes doing very little is precisely the activity.
