These are the most important words you should remember.

You can add:

Adding “krap” or “ka” makes you sound polite and adorable

4. Words You Should Be Careful With
Thai is a tonal language. Some words can sound completely different if pronounced incorrectly.
⚠️ Be careful with:
- “Mai” (ใหม่ / ไม่ / ไหม)
It can mean new, not, or turn a sentence into a question — depending on tone. - Avoid using slang you hear online unless you fully understand it.
- Never joke about the Thai Royal Family — it is very serious in Thailand.
When unsure, keep it simple and polite.
5. The Golden Rule: Smile
Even if your pronunciation is not perfect, Thai people appreciate effort.

- Add krap or ka
- Smile 😊
That’s already enough to create a good connection.
